In Bandung again we spend the day to roam through the Braga street (Jalan Braga) in order to find the pastry shop of an acquaintance. But unaware of her maiden name we video what we think is worthwhile for her.
We are addressed in fluent Dutch by a taxi driver who remembers where which shop was and what happened to the cinema Majestic.

It is charming to discover that no hardship seems to endure among Indonesians towards the Dutch. 'There is a time to hate and there is a time to forgive', is what they seem to practise. We could do 'business' with that familiarly spoken. Why couldn't we cooperate having learned that colonisation leads to loss. Why not start joint ventures to develop all the richness of this enormous archipelago in a win win situation. In the Java Journal I read of the Swedish charming offensive towards Indonesia these days. What a waste of time as the Dutch still cherish knowledge about several aspects of Indonesia. Common Indonesians may speak a little Dutch and are willing to learn. Let's put away the colonial fuss and let's make contact again. The Dutch are good in maintaining their structures let it be a national road network or architecture. It will require constant communication and decision making.
Then unemployment in Indonesia thus could be diminished as also hawking of the tourists.

The steam roller on a pedestal is a tribute to Governor General Daendels of the Dutch Indies in the nineteenth century who had built the Groote Postweg (the Long Mail Road) across Java. Well, the plague on the pedestal explains enough as you will see.
The next old picture shows a rice field along the mentioned road.
Note the image of Marilyn Monroe on a wall along the Asia-Afrika Road. You'll certainly know this almost classical image of her. Here in Bandung she appears to lose something...
We strike upon the protestant Bethel church which also dates from the former centuries. Stroll along some beautiful architectural creations, the local mosque, on our way to resto 'De Bandungsche Melk Centrale' which has been described before.
