Simon Phillips dan Tambu[sunting | sunting sumber]

Pada 1995, mereka merekam Tambu yang merupakan album pertama Toto bersama Simon Phillips. Album ini menghasilkan singel "I Will Remember", "Drag Him To The Roof", dan "The Turning Point". John James dan Jenny Douglas-McRae bertindak sebagai penyanyi rekaman untuk beberapa lagu dalam album Tambu. Lagu bonus "Blackeye" juga dinyanyikan Jenny, dan ia berduet bersama Steve Lukather dalam "Baby He's Your Man". Album Tambu tidak begitu laku di Amerika Serikat (bahkan tidak diedarkan di Amerika, dan baru dirilis setelah beredar di luar Amerika Serikat). Lagu "Baby He's Your Man" juga batal dirilis sebagai singel.^[22] Di luar Amerika Serikat, Tambu terjual 600 ribu kopi.

Konser keliling "Tambu Tour" ternyata sukses, tapi mereka tidak manggung di Amerika Utara. Simon Phillips mengalami sakit punggung hingga harus digantikan Gregg Bissonette selama tahap pertama tur pada akhir 1995. Tur keliling berakhir pada 1996. Hingga tur berakhir, musisi pendukung tur tetap tidak berubah, kecuali Donna McDaniel yang keluar tahun 1994 tak lama setelah konser "Night of the Proms" (Jennny juga tidak ikut karena ia sudah ikut tur keliling Joe Cocker). Lagu "Hold The Line" dinyanyikan sebagai duet Jenny dan John.^[23] Keduanya tidak diikutsertakan lagi pada penutupan tur 1997.
