Iftar Dinner with IA-ITB Singapore

On the 20th July 2013, Bandung Institute of Technology Alumni Association (Ikatan Alumni Institut Teknologi Bandung or IA-ITB) in Singapore hosted an iftar dinner for their members during this festive Ramadan month. The event was attended by approximately 70 guests, who were engaged by light and fun activities such as charades and a song performance. Upon Maghrib Adhan, the members feasted on delicious home cooked cuisine prepared by the event committee as well as those brought by generous guests. Delicious food with funny campus stories were the perfect set-ups for a special evening to share laughter and catch up with each other.

This dinner is one of many regular gatherings organized by IA-ITB Singapore to strengthen the bond among members. Founded in 2007, IA-ITB Singapore has been successful for being a platform for all ITB alumni in Singapore to maintain a close-knit relationship with each other. IA-ITB Singapore is committed to prepare the members for the ever-competitive and challenging world. Hence, they organized activities such as dialogue on national economy, which featured renowned ITB alumnus, Ir. M. Hatta Rajasa, as the main speaker. IA-ITB Singapore also invites experts to share their views on various interesting topics in their discussion series called Kopi Sore.

Mr. Didi Yakub, the chairperson of IA-ITB Singapore, and some senior members proudly shared that the freshmen orientation event and extra-curricular activities that they went through together back during their university days are some of the key things that help to build a strong sense of belonging as well as a long lasting relationship among the alumni. It was definitely a learning point for other universities who wish to build a strong alumni network like IA-ITB.
